Who we are
Three people in Salisbury who got fed up with van quotes.
We worked together in hospitality for years before this. We answer the phone, run the bookings and check every driver ourselves. If something goes wrong on a job, one of us picks up.

Our drivers aren't a fleet — they're people in your town who own a van and know the roads. They keep 85% of every job, get paid every Friday, and choose the jobs they want.

How much does a van and driver cost?
A single item is £55 to £85 by size, a move £69 to £349 by load, a tip run from £70 and a house clearance from £599. The first 10 miles of a move are included, then £1.80 a mile. Every price is fixed and shown before you book.
Do you do tip runs?
Yes: single items from £70, loads from £99 (Mini) to £519 (full load), and house clearances from £599. Disposal at a licensed recycling centre is included, with a waste transfer note, and there's no charge for the distance.
Can I get a van and driver today?
Yes, if you book by 3pm and a driver is free: the earliest arrival is the hour after next. After 3pm, the earliest is 1pm tomorrow. The price is the same any day.
Will two people come?
When the job needs them (a sofa, a wardrobe, a fridge, or a medium load and up) two people come, and that's already in the price. We decide it from what you're moving; there's nothing to choose or pay extra for.
How far will you go?
Anywhere in England. A move includes the first 10 miles, then £1.80 a mile, shown in the price before you pay; over 150 miles we give you a quote instead. Tip runs have no distance charge.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. You see the whole price before you book and that's what you pay: no hourly rate, and nothing added on the day for stairs, waiting or a heavy sofa, unless what you're moving changes.

Who we are
Van and Driver is a van-and-driver hire service in England. You book a van with a driver who helps you load and unload, at a fixed price you see before you book.
We started in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Our own vans cover every town within about 1.5 hours’ drive of Salisbury. 1325 towns can book today.
What we do
Single items and furniture, flat and house moves, tip runs, storage moves, student moves, marketplace collections, same-day vans and business deliveries.
Every booking includes the van, a driver who helps load and unload, blankets and straps, and the miles.
How pricing works
Moves and tip runs each have their own price book, the same anywhere in England and the same any day. A move’s price comes from how much there is, and it’s fixed when you book. Within a town it starts at £55 for a single item, £69 for a small load, £139 for a medium load and £349 for a full load (prices checked October 2026).
On a move the first 10 miles are included; a longer drive adds £1.80 a mile, in the one price you see. A tip run has no charge for the distance: it’s priced by the item, the bin or the load (from £70), and the price includes the charge at the recycling centre. Two people come when the job needs them, at no extra cost.
Insurance and waste
A partner only gets offered jobs once HQ has checked their hire-and-reward, goods-in-transit and public liability insurance, and only while it’s in date; companies also need employers’ liability insurance. If a document runs out, the partner stops getting jobs until it’s renewed.
Only partners with a checked, in-date waste carrier registration do tip runs. Rubbish goes to a licensed recycling centre, with a waste transfer note.
If something gets damaged, report it from your booking page within 7 days, with photos.
