Furniture delivery in Kensington and Chelsea: shops and pick-ups

How it works round here.

Kensington and Chelsea, Kensington and Chelsea • Furniture Delivery

Kensington and Chelsea, spanning postcode districts from SW3 and SW7 down to W10 and W11, sits within half a mile of the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Brompton Cross District Shopping Centre, making it one of the more tightly packed corners of London for anyone trying to move a sofa or wardrobe.

Van & Driver is preparing to launch its Furniture Delivery service here, covering the borough itself as well as short hops to neighbouring City of Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham. Once live, the service will offer collection and delivery of sofas and armchairs, beds and mattresses, wardrobes and drawers, and tables and chairs, all protected with blankets and straps and handled by one or two people at a fixed price agreed before the job begins. With permit parking common in the area and storage sites such as Access Self Storage on Lots Road nearby, many households and small businesses here need to shift furniture without the hassle of finding their own transport or negotiating narrow Chelsea streets. Kensington and Chelsea does not yet have Van & Driver partners on the ground, but the plan is to bring the same fixed-price, no-surprises approach used elsewhere in London to this part of the capital soon, so that a wardrobe collected near the Royal College of Music can eventually be delivered just as easily out to Wandsworth or further afield, without any guesswork over cost or condition on arrival.
