Tip runs in Stroud: what we take
How it works round here.
Stroud, Gloucestershire • Tip Runs
Stroud sits in a steep-sided valley just three miles from Stonehouse, and the GL5 postcode district's tight terraces and hillside streets mean a lot of household waste ends up harder to shift than it should be.
Van & Driver is bringing its Tip Runs service to the town soon, covering old furniture, garden waste, DIY and renovation debris, and the general boxes and bags that build up after a clear-out. The nearest licensed recycling site, at Hempsted, is over eight miles away, with others further out towards Cirencester, so a proper tip run usually means more than a car boot can manage. Once the service goes live here, the job will cover loading from your home or garden, disposal at a licensed recycling centre, a waste transfer note for your records, and a fixed price agreed before anything is booked. That will make it straightforward to compare, say, a job within Stroud itself against one heading out to nearby Nailsworth or Chalford, without any guesswork over what the final cost might be. For now, we're not yet able to arrange bookings in Stroud, but the aim is to have local partner drivers in place so residents across the town, from the centre near Stroud station out towards Stonehouse, can get waste cleared without the hassle of doing the tip run themselves.
